The new Money Express prepaid card launched as a joint payroll payment card and international money share product, offers a simple solution to migrant workers across a wide range of industries who may find it difficult to open a bank account and those who need to share money with friends and family.
Users of the card will benefit from two key features including the ability to have wages or salary paid directly on to the card, and a ‘Money in Minutes' facility which allows card holders to transfer cash from a primary blue card to a secondary yellow card.
‘Money in Minutes' transactions are carried out using a mobile phone, offering a simple way for friends and family to spend funds earned by the primary card holder whilst working in the UK. New customers of the card will gain from getting their first card free.
Stephen Widdison of Money Express commented, "We are excited to be working with Newcastle Building Society in this successful new card programme. A safe and secure way to manage cash, The Money Express MasterCard Prepaid Card provides a quick and easy way to share cash with friends and family wherever they are in the world."
Kriya Patel, Head of Card Solutions Newcastle Building Society, commented, "We are confident in the benefits that the Money Express prepaid card offers to the communities that it targets. The prepaid card can be used wherever you see the MasterCard acceptance mark in over 26 million outlets worldwide. We are delighted with the partnership established with Money Express and as a result look forward to launching many cards together in the future.
